With the Bloom fountain pen in ebony, Graf von Faber-Castell opens a new chapter within its own collection. The Bloom is the first writing instrument to feature the brand\u2019s new floral pattern, and it pulls off a rare balancing act: understated, yet instantly recognisable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First impressions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bloom comes in a dark brown wooden presentation box, the same one used for the Classic, Intuition and Perfect Pencil lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, the pen feels deliberately restrained. The black wooden barrel meets dark ruthenium accents to form a cohesive, almost monochrome whole. At the heart of the Bloom series lies its defining feature: the Bloom profile. This is essentially a floral reinterpretation of the brand\u2019s signature fluting. Instead of the straight, sharply defined grooves found on other models from the Franconian manufacturer, the Bloom introduces softer, more organic curves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ruthenium-coated brass components provide a subtle but effective counterpoint. While floral motifs are often associated with more delicate or even feminine designs, the Bloom\u2019s colour palette leans decidedly technical and cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The review sample comes with a fine nib, which behaves exactly as one would expect from a well-tuned European F. The Bloom is available in F, M and B. Paired with Pilot Iroshizuku kon-peki<\/a>, the pen\u2019s otherwise monochrome appearance gains a refreshing and vivid contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
